Aerial Extreme hosts a Gladiator challenge

7th May 2008

The ultimate ‘clash of the Titans’ is coming to Aerial Extreme in Milton Keynes on Saturday May 17th.

To celebrate the return of the popular cult classic TV show, Gladiators, Aerial Extreme at Willen Lake is hosting an afternoon of family fun to find the toughest Gladiator in Milton Keynes.

The event will see part of the Aerial Extreme course transform in to a Gladiator-style ‘arena’, where pre-auditioned ‘contenders’ will be put through their paces on the outdoor adventure ropes course. Throughout the day there will be fun for everyone including a huge inflatable slide, a bungee jumping trampoline as well as refreshments but the main event starts at 4pm.

Throughout the week, Black Thunder’s Jim will have been training on the course and at 4pm, he will set a lap time for contenders to beat. All 10 contenders will then set off at five minute intervals in an attempt to achieve the fastest time of the ‘middle’ course as they combat their way through the zip lines, scramble nets, climbing walls, and suspended balance beams.

The two with the fastest times will go through to the final ‘Eliminator’. On the first whistle the contestant takes to the course and given a head start. Then on the second whistle Aerial Extreme’s ‘Gladiators’ set off to catch them before they can complete the course level. Whoever gets the furthest before getting ‘caught’ will be crowned the number one Gladiator in Milton Keynes, and win a family pass for ten people onto the full course plus the Aerial Extreme Gladiators Challenge trophy of 2008.

Staff will be dressed as their favourite and alternative Gladiator characters and to ensure the day goes without a hitch or a cheat, site manager, Antoine Borysiewicz, will be getting in to the spirit of the day by donning a ‘John Anderson’-style black and white striped referee outfit.

If you would like to see Milton Keynes’ ‘contenders’ battle it out against the ‘Gladiators,’ come along to Aerial Extreme next to Willen Lake on Saturday May 17th for a great day out. The events commence at 4pm, but feel free to come earlier for the daytime activity!
